New funding supports Princeton's biofuels efforts .
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has committed another round of funding to lead the second phase of its Bioenergy Research Center — one of four large-scale DOE-funded research centers focused on innovation in biofuels, bioproducts, and a clean energy future for the country.

"You can study the holes between the galaxies similarly to the way you would study the structure of materials,” says Princeton theoretical chemist Salvatore Torquato. His new paper with astrophysicist Oliver Philcox offers new tools for understanding complicated structures — from the atomic level to the Universe itself.
